Use Build with Dora when you want Dora to draft a reusable practice Guide template from a written brief. The result opens in the normal template editor, where you can inspect, change, preview, and reuse it.
How do I create a Guide template with Dora?
Open Templates from the practice navigation.
Select New Template.
Choose Build with Dora.
Enter a short Template name.
Describe the client conversation, sections, and emphasis you want.
Select Build with Dora.
Wait for Dora to create the template and open the editor.
Select a household in the preview control and review every row and component.
The New Template dialog also offers Start blank. Copying an existing template is a separate Duplicate template action on its row in the template list.
How do I refine the draft?
In the editor, select Build with Dora to open the Dora panel. Ask for a specific change, such as adding an Insurance section, moving Changes earlier, removing a repeated chart, or focusing the Guide on retirement.
Review the layout after each request. Dora can draft rows, components, and settings, but it can select content that is not useful for every household.
You can also edit manually:
add or remove components;
create and reorder rows;
move components;
open component settings;
rename the template; and
change the preview household.
Practice-template edits autosave after a short delay. The editor has no separate Save button. Wait briefly after the last change, return to the template list, and reopen the template to confirm a material edit persisted.
What should I verify before assigning the template?
Confirm:
the opening explains the purpose of the client conversation;
every component has useful source data;
investment scopes and tax scenarios are correct;
client-visible notes, Changes, and Tasks are intentional;
no internal prompt or placeholder appears;
the layout works for more than one representative household; and
broad template assignments will affect only the intended clients.
Use Manage or Assign on the template row to select households. Use New Client Defaults only when future households should receive the template. Preview an affected client after changing assignments.
