Managing Your Account, Practice, and Clients

Written by Taylor Stewart

Kerdora gives each advisor a practice and client households. Use this reference to check which account and household actions are available before inviting someone, deleting a client, or preparing to leave Kerdora.

Can I add another advisor or a team member to my Kerdora account?

Kerdora doesn't offer team-member invitations or a second advisor seat within an advisor's practice. The advisor Settings page has no staff list, team roles, or permissions editor.

A colleague can create their own advisor account, but that creates a separate practice; it doesn't give them access to your clients. If you need staff collaboration, contact Kerdora Support to explain the access you need before setting up a workaround.

The Invite link on Clients is for client signup. Don't use it to invite a colleague as an advisor. Inviting a Client to the Portal explains personal invitations for adults in an existing household.

Can I move a client to another advisor or share a client with a colleague?

Kerdora doesn't provide an advisor control to transfer a household to another advisor or share it between advisor practices. A separate advisor signup doesn't connect the two practices or move existing client records.

For a handoff, you can prepare supported PDF reports, download stored documents, and export available investment holdings. Those files don't transfer ownership or give the recipient access to the household. See Printing and Exporting Reports as PDF and Investments: Reviewing Holdings and Portfolio Detail for those procedures.

Contact Kerdora Support about a client transfer request before deleting anything. Don't use a client's personal portal invitation as a colleague-access workaround.

How do I delete a client household, and what does deleting remove?

An advisor can permanently delete a household from the desktop Clients list. Deletion removes the household's plan records, stored documents, generated reports, Dora conversations, and household access, and revokes its bank connections. There is no household restore control.

  1. Save any reports or original documents you need to retain outside Kerdora before deleting.

  2. Open Clients on a desktop browser and confirm the household's name.

  3. Open that row's ⋮ menu and select Delete.

  4. In “Delete this client?”, select Delete to remove the household, or Cancel to keep it.

The mobile Clients list doesn't offer the Delete action. Deleting a household is not an archive and doesn't cancel the advisor's subscription or delete a client's separate login.

If the household has active bank connections, it still counts as an aggregated client for the current calendar month, measured in UTC. Successful deletion stops future months' usage for that household.

Some usage-accounting records remain after client content is removed; don't treat this action as a promise that every service record is erased.

If deletion fails, Kerdora leaves the household listed without an error message. Files or connections may already have been removed.

You can try Delete again; if the household remains after refreshing Clients, contact Kerdora Support with its name.

Can I copy, reset, or merge a household?

Kerdora doesn't offer a whole-household copy, reset, or merge action on Clients. Creating a new household creates a separate client file; it doesn't bring across another household's accounts, notes, tasks, or history.

For corrections, edit the affected records in the existing household. For a separate client, follow Adding Your First Client, then enter or extract that client's own information. Reusable Guide templates can help you reuse a layout without copying household data; see Managing and Reusing Guide Templates.

For duplicate households, contact Kerdora Support before removing either file. Deleting one household does not merge its contents into the other, and there is no restore control.

Can I export a client's data from Kerdora?

Kerdora doesn't provide a complete household-data export or a downloadable backup that can recreate a client file. The available downloads cover specific outputs.

An advisor can use Export in Planning → Investments when holdings are available to download a holdings CSV. The export follows the selected account scope; check the account selection before downloading. See Investments: Reviewing Holdings and Portfolio Detail for the procedure.

Use Printing and Exporting Reports as PDF for supported report downloads, and The Documents Tab: Uploading and Organizing Client Files for downloading stored source files. These outputs don't export all planning records, Spending transactions, notes, or Tasks as one transferable dataset. Save the files you need before deleting a household.

Does Kerdora send emails or reminders to advisors and clients?

Kerdora doesn't automatically email portal invitations, Task reminders, or “Guide ready” messages from those workflows. A requested password reset sends a reset-link email. The advisor Settings page has no notification-preferences page for scheduling reminders or choosing those alerts.

For a portal invitation, copy the invitation link and send it through your own communication channel; see Inviting a Client to the Portal. For a finished Guide, make the intended Guide client-visible, then notify the client separately; see Delivering a Guide to a Client.

Use Home and Tasks to review follow-up work inside Kerdora. Assigning a Task or entering a due date doesn't send an email to either the advisor or the client. This describes app workflow messages, not billing-provider or separately managed communications.

How do I change the email I use to sign in as an advisor?

Kerdora doesn't provide an advisor sign-in email change on the advisor Settings page. Editing the advisor name, firm name, or calendar link doesn't change the email used for authentication.

Contact Kerdora Support about an advisor email change. Explain that you need to change an existing advisor login, and keep using your existing account while the request is reviewed. Don't create a replacement account expecting your households or subscription to move automatically.

A client's portal email is a different record and procedure. For an adult in a client household, follow Inviting a Client to the Portal, “How do I change an adult's portal email?”

How do advisors sign in or create an account, including with Google?

Advisors can use an email and password or Continue with Google on Kerdora's login page. Clients should use their advisor's invitation for initial portal access, rather than the advisor signup page. Before a client has a Kerdora login, Continue with Google on the login page creates a separate advisor account, not access to the client's household.

  1. For an existing email-and-password account, enter Email and Password, then select Sign in.

  2. To use Google, select Continue with Google and choose the Google account connected to your Kerdora practice. If that Google account has no Kerdora login, Kerdora creates a new, separate advisor account for it; it doesn't open your existing practice.

  3. To create a new advisor account, select Create an account. Enter Name, Email, and Password, then select Create account, or use Continue with Google on that page.

If you forgot an email-account password, select Forgot password? on the login page. Security and Data Privacy in Kerdora explains password recovery. Don't use signup to recover an existing practice.

Can I see who changed something, or undo or restore a change?

Kerdora doesn't provide a household-wide change-history screen, a general Undo action for saved plan data, or a recycle bin for deleted accounts, documents, or households. Advisors and clients work with the same saved household records.

To correct a saved value, reopen the source record and enter the intended information. A deleted account must be entered again and its goal assignments checked; a deleted document must be uploaded again from a retained original. These steps create records, rather than restoring the deleted records' history.

There are limited exceptions: the Guide layout editor offers Undo and Redo, Template Field history shows earlier field values, and completing or deleting tasks on Office → Tasks or practice Tasks offers a temporary Undo message. Those controls don't reverse unrelated plan edits. See Creating and Editing Guide Templates, Snippets and Template Fields: Reusable Guide Content, and Tasks: Create, Assign, and Track Client Work for their scope.

Can a client delete their own Kerdora login?

Kerdora doesn't offer a delete-login action in the client portal. Deleting an account record from Accounts removes a financial record; it doesn't delete the client's sign-in account.

A client who wants access removed should contact their advisor. An advisor can revoke that adult's access to a household; see Resending or Revoking a Portal Invite for the procedure. Revoking household access doesn't delete the person's login or erase the household's planning records.

For a login-deletion request, or if someone must never sign in again, contact Kerdora Support. Don't delete an entire household just to remove one adult's access: household deletion removes the shared plan and has no restore control.
