The practice Tasks page is the firm-wide view of action items across client households. Use it to manage work without opening each client file separately.
Open the firm-wide Tasks page
Select Tasks in the main practice navigation. The table shows:
Done — complete or reopen the Task;
Task — edit the description inline;
Household — open the related client;
Assignee — advisor or client; and
Due date — set, change, or clear the date.
Edits save automatically. Every Task belongs to a client household; the practice page does not create a task with no client.
Create a Task
Select New task.
Choose the household from the client list.
Enter the Task description.
Choose the advisor or client as assignee.
Add a due date when needed.
The new Task appears on the practice page and in that client's Office → Tasks view.
Filter and sort Tasks
Use the controls above the table to choose:
All clients or one household;
All assignees, advisor Tasks, or client Tasks;
All statuses, open Tasks, or completed Tasks; and
Sort: Due date or another available sort choice.
Open Tasks appear in the Open section. Completed Tasks appear in the completed section and can be reopened. Overdue Tasks remain open until someone completes them.
Tasks versus Changes
A Change is the planning recommendation or desired financial outcome. A Task is the specific work an advisor or client must complete.
To create a new Task linked to a Change, open the client's Changes page and select + task on that Change. Kerdora does not currently provide a supported action for attaching an existing standalone Task to a Change.
The firm-wide Tasks page stays a flat cross-client work queue. Open the household when you need the surrounding Change or planning context.
What clients see
Client-assigned Tasks appear under My Tasks in the client portal. The client can create, edit, complete, reopen, or delete their client-assigned Tasks. Advisor-assigned Tasks remain advisor-only.
Tasks can also appear in a Guide through the Tasks component. The Task checkbox is read-only in the Guide, so clients complete the Task from My Tasks.
Delete and unlink behavior
Deleting a Task removes the Task and cannot be undone. Deleting a Change does not delete its linked Tasks; the Tasks remain in the list and are no longer tied to that Change.
Before deleting either record, confirm whether the goal is to remove the work item, complete it, or only remove its relationship to a recommendation.
